私はプラモを作るときにいつも考えます。

『いろんな工作の方法を、やってもいいんだ！』と。

変な書き方ですが、これが自分の中では一番重要な部分なのです。

 

プラモを作り始める以前は、たくさんの専門誌やプロのモデラーさんを拝見し、超絶技巧に酔いしれていました。

もちろんそれ自体は非常に楽しい事ですし、参考にもなるのですが・・・いざ自分がやろうとするとき、いわゆる『ものすごくうまい作品』というのがときに足かせになります。

『こんなにクオリティの低い作品にじゃつくってもしょうがない』

『あの処理をしないとかっこよくない、あの塗装をしなければ見栄えが悪い・・・』

 

みたいな感じな思考に陥り、最悪作るのもいやになってしまいます。

 

ノウハウ本なんか見てもすごいテクニックが書かれていて、いわゆる『マスト工作』が前提で進められているの見て、一層やる気がそがれてしまうこともあります。

 

だからいつもこう思うようにしています。

 

『この処理をすればもっとかっこよくなる』

『まだこんなやり方を楽しめる余地が残っているんだ！』

 

私の店ではキットの代行作成や修理、また完成品をヤフオクなどに出品していますからもちろん『これくらいでいいや』的な妥協はしません。

自分にできる限界まで挑戦します。

 

・・・ですが、『これをしなければダメ』という様な減点思考では、作ってて面白くないですよね。

 

ガンプラは自由です。

 

自分が最高にかっこいい！かわいい！すごい！と思える工作ができたなら、それでいいと思います。

 

パチ組でも、スミ入れでも、トップコートでも、筆塗装でも、エアブラシ塗装でも。

 

自分が楽しいと思えるものを作るのが、一番重要です。

ガンプラにおける工作技術は、自分の感動を演出する為の一つにすぎません。
